Work is complete on U.S. 98

Construction crews completed work in April 2012 on the $4.7 million U.S. 98 resurfacing project in southwestern Okaloosa County. The project delivered the following repairs and improvements for U.S. 98 between Josie Road and the Santa Rosa County line.
- Resurfacing the travel lanes.
- Improving drainage.
- Replacing guardrails.
- Replacing electronic loops embedded in the pavement that activate traffic signals.
- New directional and informational signage.
- Installation of audible-vibratory striping along the pavement edge to alert drivers in the event their vehicle drifts off the roadway.
This construction project makes travel safer for the approximately 36,000 drivers who use this segment of U.S .98 each day.
